SDA Big Ways, Big Success

Skydive Atlanta's Big Ways were an amazing success last weekend. Scott Franklin as always put together some impressive formations. Skydive Atlanta is the only DZ in Georgia where you will see multi-point formations like this being completed. Throughout the year SDA and Scott hold several 4 way camps and regular organizing weekends where you can hone your skills and be a part of these fun times.

Awesome weekend of formation skydiving

Scott Franklin was out last weekend for an amazing 4 way camp. Particpant's learned a ton as always and got to jump in some larger formation as well. The video below shows some highlights including a multi-point 10 way.

Skydive Atlanta's angle camp a huge success

The weather was amazing for our Spring angle camp this year as we had some new faces. As always Sharon Har Noy Pilcher of the Joyriders was the lead coach for this year's camp but joining her was Red Bull Air Force's world reknown Amy Chemlecki. The two groups made over 20 jumps from the -34 Super Otter over the weekend. Dives included head down and head up angles. Thanks to Ryan Schorer for putting together the event.

Great skydives at SDA!

April 19-20, 2016

Last weekend started slow with low clouds and cold temps on Saturday. But around noon it cleared and then we had fantastic weather all weekend. We were swamped with tandems which kept the Super Otter flying Saturday and we had some visting jumpers from Statesboro. Thanks for coming up, we enjoyed having you! Kevin did some really cool wingsuit jumps with the visiting jumpers.

April 23-24, 2016

Perfect weather weekend. Saturday started a bit slow due to a couple of aircraft issues that turned out to be a low battery from the mechaincs working on it during the week. Once we got started we began cranking out the tandems. This has been one of the busiest season starts on record for us.

TBT with this one from 2013!

Looking back on some of the great videos and amazing jumps we've had. The skill level at Skydive Atlanta has gotten really up there. In fact at events, record participant jumpers come up to us and comment how our jumpers are really top notch and they are excited to come and jump with us because of it.

We have many events upcoming this year with great organizers. Angle Camp is May 13-15, Scott Franklin organizing multiple events, Skydive and Murph again on Memorial Day, 4 way camps, and working on several 20 way invitationals over the next year.

Skydive Atlanta is back to blogging!

Skydive Atlanta will return to blogging after a couple of years off. We have decided to start posting content again although much of it will be linked from the outside. Here you will again find videos, photos, and the latest news from SDA.

This weekend we fought the weather getting winded out much of the time. We still managed some great loads with Scott Franklin and a bunch of students made it up. April is turning out to be a huge busy month for us. We hope to carry the momentum into the Summer. Don't forget about our upcoming Angle camp in May and we will soon be posting dates for 4 way camps and formation skydiving invitationals.
